Commenter: ValerieI owe somewhere in the neighborhood of $190,000 for an undergrad, a law, and a master’s degree. Nearly 66% of my monthly income goes directly to making loan payments. I consolidated with the Feds after they passed the Public Interest Loan Forgiveness law last year. I make the minimum payment; the income-contingent payment would actually be higher. According to them if I make the payments on time for 10 years I won’t have any debt left to forgive. What is the point of the law then???? I’ll still have a ton of private loans that aren’t eligible and would have gotten ZERO benefit from the federal program.
Commenter: CTI too had a student loan and paid it off early, still living like a poor student. That was 30 years ago, now that Congress changed the 6 year statute of limitations on student loans. The dept of education is free to do whatever they like with loans paid or not. About a year ago the dept of education came after me saying I did not pay my loan and if I could not come up with records from 30 years ago (from banks that have been bought and sold 10 times over) that I had only one option to pay the loans all over again with fees and interest of 30 years! The collection agencies garnish your wages, charge up to $2000 then garnish $2200, send $200 to the dept of education and keep the $2000, then stop the garnish, pass it on to another collection agency then it start all over again. I am retired on fixed income and am nearing end of life. This congress won’t be getting many more of my votes.
The front of the exam room has the exam table, where the vet can check up on the little girl’s rabbit. There’s also a third desk with more medical equipment, including scissors and a syringe.
The emergence of Hawkins the businesswoman was revealed in 2007 when she became the face of Australia’s biggest retailer Myer, a multi-million-dollar deal that set a record for the biggest modeling deal ever done for an Australian-based model. His grief was deep. The community put their arms around this proud man and his family. They did what neighbors do. As the months passed, they were always there. Watching after his children while loneliness ground away at his broken heart. And watched over him, as well.
The fourth set of bags provides the parts for the second floor with the veterinarian’s office. The vet’s office has a large front window with a printed design that reads “Dr. Jones Animal Care: No Snakes!” a sly little Indiana Jones Easter egg.
All of us at Jazz Standard are proud and pleased to welcome back a true modern master of the jazz art, Joe Lovano, for his first appearance on our stage in several years. The saxophonist’s latest release is Classic! Live At Newport – his 20th and final album for Blue Note Records – and this engagement will pair his golden horn with the wonderfully adept rhythm section of pianist Lawrence Fields, bassist Peter Slavov, and drummer Lamy Istrefi Jr. As a leader, Joe Lovano has released some 26 albums since 1985′s Tones, Shapes & Colors (Soul Note) including his GRAMMY Award–winning 52nd Street Themes (Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album, 2000). As a sideman, he’s worked with some of the best in the business including Steve Kuhn, Charlie Haden, and especially drummer Paul Motian with whom Lovano recorded seventeen albums from 1982–2006. "Lovano…fully justifies the growing view of him as an important, world–class jazz talent." (Los Angeles Times) "The tenor titan for our times!" Billy and Festus were sensible mules who could handle most anything. The two hunters saddled up, sheathed their rifles and released the hound dogs.

“Say no more,” I thought. Riding a strange horse furnished by the stock contractor into the center of the arena surrounded by thousands of foot stompin’, whistlin’, avid rodeo fans, reins in one hand, microphone in the other, with flags flyin’, banners flappin’ and music blarrin’…the outcome is almost predictable.
